Purdue hosting Midwest Engagement Workshop Satellite Location

On March 1, 2017, organizers of the 4th National Climate Assessment (NCA4) will hold a day-long workshop in our region that will give stakeholders an opportunity to learn about ongoing assessment efforts and share their local perspectives about climate change impacts, risks, and information needs.

The Midwest Engagement Workshop will host a primary location in Chicago, Illinois with additional satellite locations across the region, including one at Purdue University (West Lafayette, Indiana) hosted by the Purdue Climate Change Research Center.

This workshop is open to all. Anyone involved with, or interested in, the Indiana Climate Change Impacts Assessment is encouraged to attend. Registration is free, but required, as space is limited. To secure your spot, please register by 6 PM (EST) on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017.

Climate Change Infographics Now Available

The Purdue Climate Change Research Center has developed two new infographics to help publicize the IN CCIA and increase awareness about climate change. If you would like to use or share these resources, please contact Melissa Widhalm for high resolution images.

Welcome New PCCRC Student Intern

Please join us in welcoming our newest student intern, Iris O'Donnell Bellisario. Iris is a central Indiana native who recently transferred to Purdue's West Lafayette campus in pursuit of a degree in Transdisciplinary Studies through the Purdue Polytechnic Institute. As a student intern, Iris will be connecting with Hoosiers to identify and document personal stories about climate change impacts and concerns.

Did you know?
Last year marked the third consecutive year of record setting global temperatures (based on NOAA's 137-years of observations). As shown in the graphic below, it's been about 40 years since global temperatures last dipped below the 20th century average and new records have been set repeatedly over the last several decades. This trend is expected to continue as CO2 emissions continue to increase.
