Students and alumni have a fantastic opportunity to meet with some of the area’s top employers for Career Services’ First Annual Career Networking Event, Feb. 9 at the University Dining Commons on the Central campus. This event starts with a Career Fair from 10 a.m. until Noon, then a Networking Lunch (preregistration required), where employers will meet with top-tier students who complete a professional workshop series.

Sentao “Charlie” Zhou (’16) is working on a key project for his company, the U.S. office of TyreCheck, located in Greenville, being done for Michelin China. This will involve travel to Shanghai, Beijing and Tianjin for technical support and business relationships. “It has always been one of my dreams to return to my motherland as a working man and make my family proud,” Zhou commented..

Fine Arts Series

SWU's Fine Arts Division is offering a series of events this spring ranging from jazz to opera, and everything in between. Most events are free, open to the public, and will take place at Newton Hobson Chapel and Fine Arts Center on the university’s campus in Central. For a complete list of events, view the schedule here
Next Event: Wind Ensemble Pops Concert - Feb. 14, 7:30 p.m.
Broadway show tunes, movie themes, novelty numbers, and instrumental solos will all be performed in this wonderfully entertaining mid-winter program. This concert is becoming a great audience draw and there will be something for everyone, so come ready to relax and enjoy! 

This week in chapel: Spiritual Emphasis!

Spiritual Emphasis speaker Derik Idol has served in full time ministry for the last 17 years, with the last 15 years in the local church. He is currently serving as the Student Ministries Pastor at 12Stone Church in Georgia. Derik shares his heart for Jesus and passion for the next generation with his beautiful wife Meagan. Derik and Meagan have been married for seven years, have a 3-year-old daughter, and a little boy due in February. Details>>
