January 2017
Is it too late to say happy new year? We hope your 2017 is off to a great start.

Ladies, do you have sickle cell pain around or during your period? There is a correlation between your period and vaso-occlusive crisis (pain crises), and they're studying it. Help out!

Give up your junk food and become vegan! Or a least eat healthy for 2017. Learn about sickle cell warrior Mattie Robinson's journey and experience with becoming a vegan.

Speaking of healthy eating, the 30 Day Sickle Cell Challenge is back on our blog! Start off your year with healthy lifestyle choices. We promise it's not too hard.

Troy asked: "What is the best thing to do for my pain crisis? I’ve reached the point where oxy and dilaudid pills give me no relief. I need help." Dr. Q to the rescue! Here's what he had to say.
HELP WANTED

Do you want to help further sickle cell research? We're looking for a group of people living with sickle cell disease willing to enroll in clinical trials. Interested?

Can you translate? One of our new years resolution includes dissemination of sickle cell education to non-english speaking populations. We're looking for volunteers to translate in various languages.

PATIENT INPUT NEEDED!

In collaboration with Micomattie Consulting, Modus Therapeutics have developed a survey as a way for patients to give their perspectives on living with the disease. They are developing a new compound that has shown the potential to stop (and possibly prevent) painful vaso-occlusive crises.

We simply cannot educate without your support.
