THE CWHC UPDATE is a monthly bulletin that includes info on CWHC events and take-action items.

Changes Ahead!

We want to share with you what will soon be the beginning of a new chapter for CWHC – the transition of our current Director, Jess Kane. After sixteen years here, and five as the Director, Jess will end her tenure at the end of March in order to pursue additional career goals.

We are truly a stronger, more sustainable organization because of Jess’ vision and leadership, which began long before her time as Director. She has led us through significant change and growth, including the evolution to be inclusive of trans individuals, our first relocation in over 30 years, and the expansion to become a nurse practitioner-led clinic offering primary care.

We are incredibly proud of what Jess has accomplished here, and we are more deeply fulfilling our mission because of it. Though we will miss Jess dearly, we are so excited to support her in her own growth, as she becomes part of our radical, extended family doing meaningful work in Chicago. We can’t wait to see what she does next!

Moving forward into a new era of leadership, our current Clinical Services Director, Leslie Fiedler, MPH, will serve as Interim Director. We are working with McAlpine Consulting for Growth to manage our search and transition process; please stay tuned for the upcoming job posting and help us spread the word!
