Experience the culture and romance of Florence, Italy

Florence is one of those cities that I find myself awe-struck! The history, art, restaurants, Ponte Vecchio, and the Statue of David all make Florence so romantic and fascinating

In the middle of my cycle trip thru the Dolomites and Tuscany last year, we stopped in Florence for a day to explore. I must say, a day in Florence was awesome, but it would be easy to spend a week or more exploring!

This Month's Travel Tip:
What to wear? How to make sense of the dress code at your resort.

Do you ever wonder what to wear at your “all inclusive resort”? Many resorts are casual during the day. However the specialty restaurants do require a dress code. Men, don’t leave your slacks at home. Dress codes can vary from resort to resort, or even between mealtimes or at specific restaurants at the same resort.  It is important to understand the dress code and dress appropriately!  Here is to uncracking the dress code and some quick tips on what to wear.

Casual, Resort Casual or Informal - This casual dress code is popular at breakfast and lunch spots.

Men: Shorts, jeans, or slacks paired with a t-shirt or polo shirt. No sleeveless shirts. Footwear is required.

Women: a blouse with pants, jeans or a skirt, casual dresses or sundresses. Bathing suits need to be covered up with a wrap or something similar.  Footwear is required.

Casual Elegance/Elegant Casual - Evening casual elegance differs from daytime casual elegance, but the general rule is to wear something you'd wear to a country club or upscale restaurant.

Men: dress shoes, loafers or dress sandals, dress shirts with sleeves and long pants. Sleeveless shirts aren't allowed. Bermuda shorts may be permitted at some resorts.

Women: can wear skirts, pants, or sundresses. Capris may be permitted at some resorts.  Dress shoes or sandals but no flip-flops!

Resort Evening - Some resorts have a resort evening dress code for more sophisticated dining experiences.

Men: dress pants or nice jeans, no t-shirts or sleeveless shirts, dress shoes or elegant sandals.

Women: slacks, skirts, dresses, or blouses with pants, dress shoes or sandals.

If you are unsure of the dress code, be sure to ask your travel consultant before you leave so you can pack appropriately.  While at the resort, don’t be afraid to ask hotel staff about any dress codes.
"Thank you!!!  You have done a great deal of excellent work for us for our trip to Cuba. You are the best" - S.M.
