Dear <<First Name>>,
This month's executive committee message is from Jack Levinson, Immediate Past President:
I am grateful to see and feel "community" at Shabbat services. While the meaning and the experience of Shabbat services is unique to each of us, the spiritual enrichment, reflection, education and comfort in being together is plural. Shabbat starts with careful preparation and work from our rabbis and cantors and support from lay leaders and staff, but it is made meaningful because you are there. I believe this is why our Shabbat community is growing and thriving.
When we gather next weekend to celebrate the installation of Rabbi Klass and the annual Sadie Levin Scholar-in-Residence with Rabbi Paul Kipnes, we celebrate as a community with the great gift of Shabbat.
Every Shabbat celebration is the result of the deep commitment of lay leaders, congregants and staff. Thanks to everyone, especially Norman Levin and his family, for making this Shabbat even more special.
On behalf of the executive leadership, see you at Shabbat!
Jack

Parenting has never been easy - but in a culture that encourages screen time more than face time, how can we make sure that our children stay connected to what really matters in life? Now is the time to deepen the conversations about spiritual balance and emotional wholeness, because later, as our children (and grandchildren) grow, they often try to push us away at the very moment that they most need our guidance. Join Rabbi Paul Kipnes as he guides us with five Jewish values– time-tested wisdom–about how to share our wisdom in ways that our children will hear. Rabbi Kipnes co-authored the book, Jewish Spiritual Parenting: Wisdom, Activities, Rituals and Prayers for Raising Children with Spiritual Balance and Emotional Wholeness, with his wife Michelle November.
