TESD ENCOURAGES RESIDENT INVOLVEMENT IN OPPOSING PROPERTY TAX ELIMINATION

At the January 23, 2017 School Board meeting, the Tredyffrin/Easttown School Board adopted a resolution opposing legislation that would eliminate school property taxes. This proposal is currently being considered by state legislators and, if passed, has the potential to leave schools dramatically underfunded by eliminating property taxes and replacing them with increases in personal income tax and sales tax, which are subject to shortfalls during economic downturns. Click here for more detailed information.

CHINESE NEW YEAR CELEBRATIONS
The 2nd Grade Classes celebrated Chinese New Year this week with a visit from Master Hou-Tien Cheng (Paper Cutter), who has been visiting Beaumont for over 10+ years. It's remarkable that Master Cheng does the paper-cutting in free-form, without any prior sketching on the paper. If parents would like to purchase Master Cheng's art work which starts at $5.00, you may email him directly to place an order. Celebrations continued with a Chinese New Year Parade where all the students wore handmade lion masks and walked with their noise makers. View Chinese New Year photos taken by Yearbook volunteers on the BES HSA website.

BEAUMONT AND THE HSA NEED HELP!

Please contact Courtney O'Brien with any questions about the openings below.

1. Creative Volunteers Needed -
We are looking for one volunteer from each grade. This volunteer will work with individual classes in each grade to create a themed art project that will be auctioned off at the Parent Social on February 3.  This should only take one afternoon of your time to go into the classrooms to "paint" your canvas which we will supply. If you are interested, please contact Erin Muhly or Ann McCarthy.

2. Book Fair - We need two additional book fair chairs for the 2017-2018 school year. Please consider joining this fun group to lead the two 📚 book fairs sponsored by the HSA. Both Mary Hashemi and Renee DelViscio will be leaving Beaumont at the end of the school year and will help with the transition.

3. Cultural Arts - For the 2017-2018 school year, we need two volunteers to work together to plan all school assemblies. These people will coordinate schedules, contracts and assembly day details with lead teachers and staff at Beaumont as well as with the assembly providers. Chairs will also attend periodic Delta meetings at Easttown Library. This is a fun and rewarding job that gives chairs an opportunity to bring assemblies into our school and see firsthand the children's enthusiasm and excitement about being exposed to different cultural and art related experiences. Current chairs Alicia Asselta and Lindsey Weber.

4. Pizza Bingo - We need two or more chairs to lead Pizza Bingo for the 2017-2018 school year.  This is a popular event that is fun for all involved.  Current chairs: Katie Galef, Min Lubiniecki, and Angie Polizzi.
