"The play appears straightforward and featherlight, but then it turns and turns, and turns again, in ways you won’t see coming. To say any more would spoil the “a-ha” moments in the script…The more you think on the play, the more it will resonate."

- Pam Kragen, San Diego Union Tribune

"NCRT has a triumph on its hands with its sublime production of Marjorie Prime."

- Jack Lyons, The Desert Star Weekly

A special guest of North Coast Rep, Dr. Blythe Towal will host a talkback after the evening's performance  on February 4th.

Dr. Blythe Towal is a neuromorphic engineer who works at the intersection of biological and artificial intelligence. She has done research in electrical engineering, neuroscience and robotics leading to many peer-reviewed publications that shed light on the algorithms that people, rats and machines use to explore their environments. Her work has spanned from studies of behavior down to studies of the rules and mechanisms that neurons use to connect and communicate with each other. Blythe received her bachelors degree from Georgia Tech, her masters degree and doctorate from Northwestern University and completed a postdoc at Caltech before joining Qualcomm Research. She currently works on a team developing the energy-aware computing circuits for artificial intelligence that are used inside Qualcomm’s SnapDragon mobile phone processor. In 2012, Blythe received the L’Oreal USA Fellowship for Women in Science, which allowed her the opportunity to discuss the importance of artificial intelligence and neuroscience with members of congress, and was also listed on the Forbes Magazine 30 under 30 list for science and medicine the same year. Blythe enjoys talking about her work with members of the public and is excited to discuss the themes in Marjorie Prime.
