Rachel Wright, a VSW-CP student, recently received a job as a Veterinary Social Worker at Summit Veterinary Referral Center in Tacoma, WA. Rachel provides pet loss support and compassion fatigue services to clients and staff of the center. Rachel began working with the referral center as a volunteer completing her service learning hours, but was quickly hired once they realized her services were invaluable. HABIT will be hosting an information meeting on February 4th. This meeting is open to anyone interested in volunteering with their dog, cat, or rabbit. HABIT is an animal assisted therapy program in Tennessee that connects volunteers with pet visitation sites such as hospitals, nursing homes, and mental health centers.
