Dear Friend,

Thank You

In Exodus 17, Moses was leading the Israelites when warriors came to fight against them.  Moses, his brother Aaron and a man named Hur, went to the top of a hill to watch the Israelites fight against the warriors of Amalek.  As long as Moses held up the staff with his hands, the Israelites had the upper hand and were winning, but when he lowered his hands, the Amalekites gained the upper hand.  Moses' arms grew tired and he just couldn't hold them up anymore.  Aaron and Hur saw this and jumped right in, supporting Moses' arms, one on each side and remained there holding up his hands until sunset.  The Israelites ended up winning the battle.

This word picture describes our team.  As many of you know, 2016 was a tough year for us, however, you were there and continue to be there, holding up our tired arms so we can continue on.  Thank you for being on our team, holding us up prayerfully and financially.

Connecting People to God's Word

Since returning to the United States, David has been volunteering as a user advocate for the YouVersion Bible App, helping people connect with the Word of God in different languages and helping people engage with the Word of God in a language they can understand.  There are currently 1,068 languages available in the app to read all or part of the Bible. In addition to helping people connect with a language that speaks directly to their heart, he's answering all types of questions, fighting to end Bible poverty one question at a time.

Please pray for the team that is working with Bible Societies around the world to get every language that has a translation added to the app so everyone can have access to the Word of God.

DeAnna's Role as LC

DeAnna is enjoying connecting and building relationships with her clients.  When someone becomes a new Wycliffe missionary, they are assigned a Launch Coordinator (LC).  DeAnna is an LC in Wycliffe.  She gets to work with new missionaries helping them prepare for their first term at locations all around the world.  She also continues working with them throughout their first term.  She currently is working with three couples, three families and two singles who are new missionaries, one couple who are preparing to leave for their first assignment in February, a family who is preparing to serve in Cameroon, a couple who is preparing to serve in Senegal, a couple who are currently serving in a remote village in the Pacific, a family who is currently serving in Papua New Guinea and four families in the pipeline who will be serving in various locations around the world.  It's encouraging for her to hear their stories and walk with them on their journey.

Prayer Requests and Praises

Pray for peace to prevail in Cameroon - there is much violence in the NW between two distinct groups.
Pray for our family's health - we have struggled with colds that seem to keep going and going.
Pray for YouVersion Bible App users to be connected to God's Word and for David to have wisdom in his answers to users.
Praise that we are in a better place emotionally, physically and spiritually.
Praise that we can pay our bills, having a shovel to help us to start to dig on our debt incurred since our return.
Praise that we've adjusted back to life in the USA.

...Then they stood on each side, holding up his hands until sunset.
