Hi All!
Here’s your weekly dose of FIVER FRIDAY, a list of what I've found useful or informational this week concerning education.
Documentary I'm watching--
Becoming Warren Buffett. If you subscribe to HBO, I highly recommend this candid portrait of Buffett. My wife and I watched it last night, and there are times we were brought to the verge of tears. Not only does the documentary present the topic of money wisely, it provides a life-affirming perspective regarding how one should live and do work that matters.
NEW post I'm writing for Corwin--
How to Develop an Assessment Mindset. I've had a lot of fun writing for Corwin Connect recently. You can find the other two posts here and here.
YouTube video I'm watching--
I know there are a lot of people who don't like puns, but those people are wrong. Puns are amazing. Long ago I declared my indePUNdance from worrying about people not liking my puns.
Do you like puns? Do you need something to help you overcome other people's PUNishing remarks when you make a pun? Then watch this video. I know my opinionated take makes me sound like a overbearing PUNdit, but I think you'll enjoy the prePUNderance of puns in the video. (Warning: There is PUNfanity--one bad word--in the video.)
What I'm reading about Bill Belichick--
I finished reading The Education of a Coach this week, which I highly recommend. I made a note in Evernote of my favorite excerpts, which you can access here. I also like this recent post on The Ringer entitled The Belichick Way. There's so much that teachers and administrators can learn from great athletic coaches like Belichick.
Quote I'm pondering--
"The more voluntary suffering you build into your life, the less involuntary suffering will affect your life."--Tim Ferriss
