Live Simply, Love Generously

This Sunday the message will focus on the first half of our stewardship emphasis for 2017 - Live Simply.

Too often in this complex, fast-paced world even Christians fall into the trap of too much buying, spending, shopping, and consuming. This leaves us without the energy to focus on eternal things in all areas of our lives: health, finances, job, marriage, family, etc. Living simply means that we change our focus from living for this world to living for Him. Living simply doesn’t imply that there will be less joy in our lives — quite the contrary! By focusing on the simple things, we are doing God’s will and are blessed by knowing Him.

Prayer for our President

Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, our country has a new president, we beg that you would send Your richest blessings upon President Trump. Give to him the wisdom he will need to carry forward the responsibilities of his office in integrity and honor; guard him from every danger of body and soul and surround him always with those who will give him honest counsel. Guard us from violence and sedition and make us a just and caring nation, where Your Gospel may go forth unhindered and to the joy and upbuilding of Your Church. We ask it through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Who is my neighbor?

Here are a couple of organizations that you can learn more about to understand how Lutheran organizations respond to the needs of our neighbor.
Lutherans for Life
Lutheran Immigration and Refuge Services

Our Daisy's Food Pantry was at the Kroger's in Chilson Commons on Saturday between 12pm-6pm. We will again be at the front doors Sunday, 12pm-6pm. We greet people with a smile, and we tell them that we are collecting food for the local food pantry. Most people gladly take the suggested shopping list we offer to them. On their way out of the store, generous people drop their donations in a waiting cart. We have received several shopping carts of food so far. Consider shopping at Kroger's on Sunday and making a donation to our food pantry.
