Dear Praying Friends,
We write tonight to share with you the difficulties we've been walking through over the last week. After celebrating the New Year and my birthday as a family of 4, we watched our little Zinha grow and blossom as she discovered our love and her place in our family. On Tuesday, we were unable to fight any longer for her to stay with us. We were, and continue to be...devastated.
Unfortuately, it's a long story that we don't even understand. Social services decided Zinha could not remain with us until the adoption is complete. They ordered us to return her to the orphanage where she had been. This all happened at the same time that our lawyer was out of the country. As any family would be, we feel like our daughter has been ripped from our arms, she was.
We ask, as our lawyer meets with the judge tomorrow that you will pray with us for our family to be made right again.
As you can see, in 3 short weeks Zinha changed from a state of insecurity and mistrust, to joy overflowing and calling us "Momma, Pappa and Yaya (sister)". Yes, indeed, "the greatest of these is love." It was absolutely the wrong thing for her to have to be separated from us again.
