Just prior to LinkedIn's successful IPO, Tech Crunch applauded Endeavor Global Board Member Reid Hoffman's model of how to grow a successful business. Journalist Sarah Lacy noted that attention is usually given to entrepreneurs with flashy companies which expand fast, while Reid's commitment to the slow and steady development of LinkedIn over the past decade created an enterprise every bit as worthy as its high share price. Endeavor Brazil participates in World Economic Forum entrepreneurship education event
Recently, a group of Latin America’s most vibrant entrepreneurs gathered in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for a Latin America Entrepreneurship Education Round Table as part of the Global Education Initiative led by the World Economic Forum. Co-chaired by Endeavor Brazil and UNESCO Latin America (a key partner in the GEI), the roundtable focused on entrepreneurship education, the widening gap between skills and jobs in Latin America, and the employability of youth. The Next Web, a top blog for tech news and business, has included three Endeavor-supported companies in their new list of “10 Latin American Startups You Should Watch Out For." The companies are: PagosOnline, a Columbian payments service; Smowtion, an Argentinian online advertising firm; and Movile, a Brazil-based mobile content provider.
Felipe Vergara honored by World Economic Forum, profiled in the New York Times
Endeavor Entrepreneur Felipe Vergara, who founded the Colombia-based organization Lumni, has received a Latin American Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2011 award by the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship. A venture capital fund that invests directly in human capital, Lumni finances education for students in exchange for a small fixed percentage of their future income. [More]

Endeavor alum wins MIT100K Business Plan Competition
Endeavor former staff member David Auerbach (Partnerships, Policy & Outreach) recently graduated from MIT's Sloane School of Business, where he won the prestigious MIT100K Business Plan Competition for his social enterprise Sanergy. Brazil Trek
The Endeavor Investor Network kicked off with Brazil Trek, holding its inaugural event in São Paulo from April 27-29. The event brought 30+ high impact participants together: Endeavor Entrepreneurs, local investors, and international investors including global network members Intel Capital, Redpoint, and Balderton. The Entrepreneurs and investors connected over a networking dinner and speed-networking sessions, fostering both local and global relationships. All six Endeavor Entrepreneurs attending also gave 10-minute pitch presentations to investors from the U.S. and Brazil. [More]
