Crushing it! Glass Pathways get installed at MUD.
Thanks to over 20 community volunteers, MUD's nearly completed our re-purposed glass pathways. Crushed, tumbled glass sourced from Missoula’s (I.E.) Recycling has been transformed into a permeable walkway that is both beautiful and functional. Pathway designs were created by artists at the Von Common, a nonprofit artist collective just down Wyoming St. from the MUD site. This project is a demonstration of how we can divert a waste product from the landfill by creating porous pathways in Missoula’s parks and community spaces. Permeable pathways mean that rain water replenishes our aquifer instead of being diverted to storm drains. Come by MUD to check out this new project that could help our city move further towards Zero Waste.
The MUD Glass Pathways project was made possible with support from the Office of Neighborhoods & Community Forum.
