Community Pro-life Rosary intentions
July: For strength and enlightenment to all who feel disillusioned in their struggle to witness to the sacredness of human life.”

Reading Community activities: While we are continuing our pro-life Rosaries during July and August, our other activities outside of our Mass schedule will cease until September.

Fire Drill: a fire drill will be carried out at the end of a Mass on a Sunday in July, for the safety of parishioners and to comply with church building insurance requirements. When the alarm sounds please leave the church immediately. Your cooperation is very much appreciated.

New Superior General
Please keep the FSSP in your prayers as its General Chapter concludes, and particularly our newly elected Superior General, Very Rev. Andrzej Komorowski, FSSP. He served as a priest here in Reading in early 2008, during which time he baptised a few of our Community's children. Amongst other things, in more recent years he was the FSSP's General Bursar, based in our international headquarters in Fribourg, Switzerland. Click on his photo for more details

Our parishioner Philip Byron writes: "I would like to thank everyone who contributed a total of £90 to sponsor Tony Mullett to cycle 200 miles to raise funds for the SPUC campaign to stop dangerous moves to allow women to take abortion pills at home."

Our prayers and condolences for the family of our parishioner Eleanor Chinkondenji, whose nephew Patrick was tragically died in a car accident in Malawi. Requiescat in pace!

EVANGELIUM CONFERENCE
17 - 19 August, Reading Oratory School. The Conference combines a residential weekend break with the opportunity to learn more about the Catholic faith, assisting participants to live, share, and defend the faith today. Talks and workshops are combined with daily Mass, eucharistic adoration, and social events. Further details here on Facebook.

Oremus pro Pontifice
to be prayed at the end of Mass

Owing to the concern and bewilderment surrounding the Apostolic Exhortation, Amoris Laetitia, we will continue to chant the Prayer for the Pope, the Oremus pro Pontifice, at the end of Sunday Masses and pray it in English at the end of weekday Low Masses. This will demonstrate our attachment to the See of Peter and our filial love for the Holy Father, Pope Francis; while also expressing our desire, through prayer, for the clarification of this text, to end the confusion and reaffirm the perennial teaching or Christ and His Church.
