It has been a month now since we learned the difficult news that the bids on our long-awaited building renovation came in much, much higher than anticipated. As you know, these higher-than-expected bids required us to push the pause button on the project until a good solution can be found. So, what has happened over this past month and where are we now?
The Property Ministry Team, Finance Committee, and Leadership Board have all met multiple times and are working closely with Graham and Hyde Architects to come up with several options for moving forward. Once these options are developed, a series of informational forums will be scheduled for the congregation in anticipation of a special congregational meeting. At these forums, we will present to the congregation the various options we have and seek the congregation’s input on which option seems best. Though this process might not be as quick as many of us may have hoped, we have decided that it is better to make good, long-term decisions rather than quick decisions that may not serve us as well in the future.
