NAYI wraps up its five-day run

The Nebraska Agricultural Youth Institute (NAYI), the longest-running program of its kind in the nation, concluded its 47th year this week on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s East Campus. Sponsored in part by the Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA), NAYI provided more than 200 Nebraska high school juniors and seniors opportunities to explore careers in agriculture and enhance their knowledge about the industry.

The 21 college-age men and women who comprise the Nebraska Agricultural Youth Council (NAYC) conduct a majority of the planning and execution for the event. Activities included discussion on agriculture policy, presentations by motivational and leadership speakers and networking opportunities with agri-business and farm organization leaders.

Former NDA Director Greg Ibach accepts the NAYI Award of Merit from NAYC Head Counselors Amanda Kowalewski and Logan Kalkowski. » Read more
