 The Massachusetts Mutual Aid Plan (MassMAP) is a web-based emergency coordination tool used by healthcare agencies to coordinate and assist each other during and after emergencies. This course will provide participants with an overview of the tools, capabilities, and information available within the MassMAP system, specific to community health centers. The MassMAP system serves as a valuable tool for response partners to improve coordination and develop a common operating picture in the event of an emergency. This course will provide attendees with hands-on practice and technical assistance using the MassMAP system.

Resources for Supporting Children Experiencing Disasters
 Children experience disasters and emergencies with varying levels of resilience and have differing needs when compared to adults. The unique needs and characteristics for this vulnerable population are important to identify and incorporate into preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation plans and actions. Below are some resources to help plan for meeting the needs of children in disasters.
- ASPR TRACIE has a topic collection dedicated to general pediatric disaster planning.
- The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) hosted a webinar on June 27, 2018, titled “Planning for Hospital Pediatric Surge: Solutions Within Reach” as part of their Children’s Hospitals and Preparedness Webinar series. This one-hour webinar includes discussions on developing written plans and steps for exercising that plan to potentially address the CMS Emergency Preparedness Rule requirements. AAP also provides a preparedness checklist for pediatric practices.
- The Resilient Children/Resilient Communities Initiative (RCRC), led by the National Center for Disaster Preparedness, has developed a toolbox with guides and training materials specifically tailored to community emergency managers, policymakers, child-serving organizations, and individual families. A recent webinar is also available to learn more about the resources and tools provided in the RCRC toolbox.
- The National Association of School Psychologists has prepared guidelines for recovery from large-scale crises specifically geared towards crisis response teams and administrators.
