SUMMER NEWS AND UPDATES

WE ARE DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE THE APPOINTMENT OF MICHAEL KINSMAN AS THE NEW CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD
 

Michael Kinsman is a San Diego music festival promoter and writer. He is the founder of the San Diego Blues Festival  (San Diego Blues Festival ), which each year attracts 5,000 people and serves a major fundraiser for the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank. He also is the co-founder of the  OB Oktoberfest, which attracts 15,000 annually. He spent 25 years as a business reporter and columnist for the San Diego Union-Tribune. His column on workplace issues was nationally syndicated for 22 years, appearing weekly in more than 40 newspapers. In addition, he served as president of the San Diego Press Club and was co-founder of its scholarship foundation. He was a co-founder of Blues Lovers United of San Diego and spent five years as president of the 400-member club. Under him, the blues society conducted music education seminars and clinics for as many as 10,000 elementary, middle school and high school students annually.
