Happenings at The Apple Basket
I hope you are all doing lots of creating during this cold winter - perfect weather for being indoors and being creative. Remember it is good for the soul to "make things", this is proven fact, that is why our go to saying is "Create - Make - Soothe.
I was very lucky to have one of my quilts (Roundabout) published in the Simply Modern Magazine by Quiltmania - such an exciting experience for me, thank you so much Simply Modern. We have this issue of Simply Modern for sale on our website, see below. Make sure you have a look at the new fabrics in store further down in this newsletter, new Tilda and Jen Kingwell. We have another Leafy Cushion class by Barb Smith on the 26th July if you are interested in this one make sure you book in early as we have limited this to 8 people. This is such a great magazine to have at hand with great projects and reporting on famous quilt shows. It is so great to see what amazing quilts are being made around the world.

Kiss Me Quick Quilt Class
1st & 8th August 9.30 am - 3.30pm
Come along and make this quilt. Learn the right way to cut and piece and end up with this gorgeous quilt. We will make up the kits in the colours of your choice or you can make it the same as these ones.

Come along and learn to make this delightful "Book in a Box" with Val Waterhouse. She is an amazing tutor and you will learn a great deal and she is full of exciting ideas and creativity, so you can use her ideas in your embroidery work. You won't finish the Book in a Box in the one day class but you will get guidance of what to do next. Or if you wanted you could come to our next month class with Val on 17th August. Val teaches here at The Apple Basket every month and you can come along any month and work on your embroidery "works in progress".
Cost for each class is $50.00.

Fresh Cut Block of the Month by Sue Spargo

We are taking expressions of interest with this new block of the month by Sue Spargo called "Fresh Cut". The first month you will receive the first block, the border, binding and the book, the months after that you would get the fabric (wools and cottons). for each block. Collage Class with Cherry Watson
Come along and learn this amazing technique using flowers, leaves and anything else you like to make up this collage quilt. There are numerous different patterns you can use in this class, these are just two of them. Pattern will have to be purchased before class.

"Simply Spring" Block of the Month.
Join our latest block of the month. The little blocks are hand stitched using 100% wool felt and Kaffe Fassett fabrics on a variety of backgrounds. Using Eleganza and Ellana wool threads by Sue Spargo and 80wt Aurifil threads for the needleturn applique. This is a lovely project to sit down with as the blocks you will be working on are only 7" square - a nice size to handle on hot summer days.

Retro Caravan Cushion Kit
