Aloha Dragonfly friends,

Phoenix added yet another magical touch by building a perfectly beautiful new ohia wood pole gate after our previous gate succumbed to entropy and died of old age (after 35 years!) See photo above.

LIFE GOES ON AT DRAGONFLY

Thank you all for sending emails and texts of grave concern for us. The media has frightened many people into thinking the Big Island is a dangerous place to be. Our European guest said Volcano Village was like a beautiful ghost town because visitors don’t understand it is not overrun with lava. I overheard some guests conversing at breakfast about how it feels no different in Kona from what they are accustomed to finding—vog, with some days better than other days.

Because we are one hundred miles away, from the volcano on the other side of the BIG Island, we are carrying on with business as usual. Emotionally we feel deeply for those who have lost their homes. Physically we are not really affected by the devastation happening in Puna. Occasionally the vog gets heavy but it doesn’t bother us much as the wind carries either no or very small amounts of sulphur dioxide this far from the volcano.

WANT TO BRING A GROUP OR JOIN OUR DRAGONFLY TEAM?

We continue to host workshops with everyone having a wonderful time here. We look to expand into having more retreats—especially for those who wish to enjoy our 10-day vegan Clean Burn Shape cleanse.  Check out why we need the cleanse: Free Obesogens e-book

If you have a group of 10 to 16 people you want to bring to Hawaii, feel free to contact us at info@dragonflyranch.com or 808-328-2159.

Our team is phenomenal. It has remained consistently wonderful ever since Will took over selecting people from WorkAway and HelpX. One day we counted 9 languages spoken between volunteers--a multi-cultural crew of exciting people for sure! It is a tremendous joy for us to eat out of our productive organic garden--Thanks to especially to Maggie...and now the whole team. Of course, being able to have the dolphins swim up beside us when we snorkel in the local bays is a highlight of everyone's day. Want to join us? Feel free to write Will at aloha@dragonflyranch.com of call us at 808-328-2159.

This amazing flow was posted on facebook with lava moving at 20 to 30 MPH.

 ERUPTION DESTRUCTION/EXPANSION OF BIG ISLAND

Madam Pele is definitely busy on the Big Island. In the 47 years I have lived on the island, this is the biggest flow that has happened, creating over 500 acres of newly formed land. It is both awesome and formidable. Since it IS, we live with it and pray for the flow to stop. For extra protection from low air quality days, we have air purifiers in every room now! Fortunately, Dragonfly guests are adventurous and don’t let the eruption stop them from coming and enjoying the Big Island.

FAMILY WEDDING PARTY AT THE DRAGONFLY

We had a delightful time getting to know the Dvorak and Dehr families. Bride Natalie chose the Dragonfly Ranch to house her wedding party for a week. What fun getting to know their unique families! We hope to keep hosting more wedding parties.

DIFFICULT TIMES OF "HARMONY THROUGH CONFLICT"

According to my ace astrologer, Henry Seltzer, the New Moon and solar eclipse last week indicate a "darkly transformational time--perhaps for the next six months." Harmony through conflict? Holy cow!
Henry is the foremost authority on the new planet Eris, the Feminine Warrior. He is highly respected for his TimePassages Mobile app. Henry wants to do another workshop at the Dragonfly in late Fall, 2019. DEATH MIDWIFE TRAINING August 4-9

My new life-long friend, Heather, trained under Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, Ram Das. and numerous other luminaries in the conscious death and dying movement. She is experienced in helping make the end of life a loving community activity with ease and grace—blending practical experience with mystical insights. Heather has a profound relationship with the “spiritual longings of the dying.” She has a passionate desire to teach what she has learned, so it will be easier for us and our loved ones when we reach that time in our lives to either transition or help others with this sacred journey.

I was awed by Heather at Sufi camp on Maui where I met Ram Das and experienced lots of bliss with blissful Maui Sufi lovers at the Ahimsa Sanctuary Farm. Heather sings beautifully while radiating love with her smiling face and pure loving heart.

See why I immediately loved this woman: Video of Heather singing

As we learn about the amazing end-of-life process, we will be singing, laughing, communing with dolphins, and walking the labyrinth. We will also be eating delicious meals that assist the Clean Burn Shape detoxification program (ThisIsOrenda.com/partner/40927). This is the pilot program for a 10 day joyous Death Midwife Training we are planning for next year. Dates we are considering: May 31 through June 9. Stay tuned!

I have a whole new take on a line my southern grandmother once said:“Weddings, funerals, all the same."  Both are celebratory community events!

DRAGONFLY IS BECOMING A BUTTERFLY PEA/CLITORIA TEA FARM!

Ines, our recent guest who hails from the Ivory Coast, and her lovely daughter, Chloe, demonstrate the magical qualities of this gem in the video below. Click the image to view.

For years I have been pampering our clitoria vine so we can have beautiful edible blue flowers in our salads. Not until Will’s spa friends showed him the blue tea did I bother to investigate the amazing healing properties of this little gem. I have been accused of delighting in calling this flower what it looks like. I believe...it is true. A better name for dinner conversation might be the “Butterfly Pea” flower—unless you are naughty and enjoy the shock value of calling it “Clitoria.”

Our dear Swetlana planted the seeds and now has 10 baby plants growing—the humble beginnings of our Clitoria Tea Farm. Check out this link to learn how good this flower is for skin, eyes, asthma, diabetes, etc: https://www.majesticherbs.com/clitoria-ternatea-blue-butterfly-pea-flowers-benefits/

AEDON’S GINGER/LEMON/BASIL DRINK

Swetlana picked up on the ginger/lemon/basil drink that our dear Aedon created. By using Yakon, the sweet but low-glycemic root of a small sunflower, it fits our Clean Burn Shape program perfectly! And when we make it with our blue tea, it turns into an amazing fuchsia/lavender color and becomes even healthier for us.

How to Make Ginger Basil Limeade

INGREDIENTS
1⁄2 cup fresh BASIL
2 inch GINGER (FRESH)
1 whole LIME
2 tsp YAKON SYRUP (RAW SUGAR, MAPLE SYRUP or HONEY)

PREPARATION

1. Use a fine grater to make about 1 teaspoon of lime zest. Juice
limes. Chop ginger into chunks.
2. Add 1c water to a blender with ginger, lime juice, lime zest,
sweetener and a small handful of fresh basil leaves. Blend until
smooth.
3. Combine ginger-lime juice with an additional 3 cups of water in
a pitcher. Garnish with fresh basil. Chill and serve.

JULIE PHILLIPS THOROUGHLY EXPLAINS CLEAN BURN SHAPE

This video lays out the details of how Clean Burn Shape helps us deal with Stress and Toxins--(free e-book here) that typically lodge in obesogenic fat cells around our waist. Julie's video is well worth taking the time to watch.

WON'T YOU BE MY NEIGHBOR?

This exquisitely directed film, by the son of Yo-Yo Ma, is a must see! I had no idea how the work of this extraordinary gentle man of integrity profoundly affected the youth of our country.  This movie really touched me to tears because of Mr. Rogers' dedication to honoring children-- "just as you are."  He also creatively helped children learn to deal honestly with emotional experiences such as divorce, assassination, death, etc. I highly recommend you see this inspirational, heart-warmingl movie!

Barbara and Professional Mermaid, Chantel, enjoy
chihuahua love while sipping butterfly pea/clitoria tea--
with lemon.
Thank you for staying in touch with us by reading our Dragonflyer Museletter.

Wishing you a WONDER full Summer filled with vibrant health, heart-fulfilling love, financial ease, and an abundance of joyous belly laughs.

Aloha nui loa and malama pono,

It's all about DEVOTION...to loving yourself.
