Online | New websites launched for BC AHSN organization

Check out our brand-new look! Coordinated with our recent organizational re-branding, BC AHSN, the BC SUPPORT Unit and Research Ethics BC have launched new sites that show the unity and collaboration between all components in the network.

The redesigned BC SUPPORT Unit site launched first on July 4th, 2018, followed by the BC AHSN site and Research Ethics BC site launched later in the same month.

A new website for Clinical Trials BC, another component of BC AHSN, will be launched in September.

BC SUPPORT Unit | Registration now open for October patient-oriented research conference

Register today! More than 165 stakeholders have already registered for the BC SUPPORT Unit's second annual conference, called Putting Patients First: Lessons Learned for Patient-Oriented Research 2018 (or #PPF18). The conference schedule is now available here. Registration is free.

#PPF18 is an important event designed for members of four key stakeholder groups:

  • Clinicians who improve health care through patient-oriented research;
  • Health system decision-makers who help implement health system change;
  • Patients who get engaged and be heard; and
  • Health researchers who get results with impact.

As a BC AHSN stakeholder, you're encouraged to attend. We'll have a substantial presence at the conference. In addition to having a booth that includes representatives from all network components (BC SUPPORT Unit, Clinical Trials BC and Research Ethics BC), our CEO will be making opening remarks.

Research Ethics BC | PREP system for Harmonized Ethics Review to launch province-wide next month

Research Ethics BC will launch a harmonized review system called the Provincial Research Ethics Platform (PREP) on September 1st, 2018. This web-based platform will streamline ethical review of multi-jurisdictional studies that involve human research ethics clearance from more than one of the following research ethics boards (REBs):  Harmonized and harmonization refers to the process of more than one institution being involved in a single ethics review of a research study that involves humans. Multi-jurisdictional research studies require this review by more than one Institutional REB, according to the Institutions’ policies, and the requirements of the TCPS2 (2014).
