June was a great furlough month for us!  We gave updates and reported on the work that God is doing through Freedom in six different churches, as well as home gatherings.  We spent time with family and catching up with friends.  There were some projects on the agenda, as well.  My Dad and I painted “Jesus is coming” on the roof of our church.  I grew up attending there and whenever we were asked about our church, we just said, “It's the one with Jesus is coming on the roof."

We were also able to see our daughters and the ministries that both are a part of.  We saw Kinsey at Winshape Camp in Georgia, and in North Carolina, we saw Elle at Camp Lurecrest.  We are impressed with their camps, and praise God for the opportunities that both girls have had to disciple campers.

Also, while on furlough, Toni’s father, Mike Crooks of Portland, IN, passed away one day after we arrived stateside.  Mike had battled cancer for more than two years and we knew this time was coming.  As prepared as one tries to be, the loss of a loved one is difficult.  We miss the relationship that we had with him, however, through it all, we praise the Lord for His amazing provision and sovereign plan.  Please keep Toni, her mother Anne, and the rest of the family in your prayers as they adjust and heal.

After one month for furlough, we jumped back into ministry on July 3rd.  Even though we were only gone four weeks, we were amazed at the work God accomplished in that short amount of time.  And, there's an opportunity right now to help us with additional funds to continue construction.  A $50,000 matching gift is available until July 27th .  Your gift would be matched!  Click here!

Summer enrichment and Bible camps started in June and will continue until August.  Interns and teams are doing a fantastic job conversing with our students in English and sharing the love of Christ in Bible camps.  It really is a dynamic environment!  Maybe you want to be a part of it....

Please don't think we are being pushy.  We believe God is doing a mighty work in this place, and we want to share it.  Like the sign on the church roof, we believe that Jesus is coming.  We know that God has a heart for the lost.  We know that He wants a relationship with each person that He has hand-crafted.  We know that He wants to be glorified by His people.  That's why we do what we do, and it's to that end that we share.  

To our supporters, we joyfully say thank you.  June marked 7 years on the field for us, and may God receive the glory for that!  There were several tough times; times when we didn't know if we were in the right place, or if we should continue, but God faithfully showed His love and provision.  We have no doubt that He has us right where He wants us.  We'd be foolish to think that He won't bring other trials into our lives, but we know not to fear.  He has it for our good.  He loves us and pursues us, and we stand on that!  Thank you for standing with us!
