Update to Club Members on the 10th July Meeting with Council on Dorothy Laver Reserve West Proposed Project
Ross Melville, Bruce Churchward and Doug Fox represented Camberwell Lacrosse Club.
The meeting was called as a follow-on from the 3rd July meeting with Boroondara CEO to give the club opportunity to explore options for the Dorothy Laver Proposed Development and gather feedback on the floodlighting proposed for Eric Raven Reserve and the possibilities of the club’s program being fully provided for at Eric Raven Reserve.

Parent Testimonials Wanted!
In the dilemma that our club now faces as a result of Boroondara Council’s proposal to develop Dorothy Laver Reserve as a soccer facility, we need some help from parents (or players) in spending a few minutes to write a brief testimonial relating to the positive impact that lacrosse and our club has had on them or their son or daughter.
Last Sunday, at the Women’s Match at Dorothy Laver Reserve, one parent button-ho;ed our local Solway Ward Councillor and gave him a detailed testimonial on the highly positive influence lacrosse, and people at Camberwell Lacrosse Club, had made on her daughter’s life. The Councillor was most taken with this conversation as it brought home strongly what we have all known for many years – many young people have tried plenty of sports without falling in love with a sport until they discovered lacrosse.
Increased self-confidence, increased self-esteem, a new bunch of friends, exciting new challenges, new passion, positive role models and mentors, improved school results, – these are some of the things that can be life changing.
We need testimonials in written form covering your own or your family’s experience as a help for the club in bringing home a powerful message to our municipal Council.
So parents (and players), please take a few minutes to put some thoughts on paper as a “Testimonial to Camberwell Lacrosse Club” – send the results by email to our Junior Coordinator, Tony Hollenkamp: juniors@clclax.org.au
Thanks
Ross Melville
