22nd Balaklava Eisteddfod
weekend is here!


Welcome to all new and returning entrants in 2018. We trust you are excited, all organised and looking forward to the weekend?

Have a look at each of the venues for the big coloured charts (as above) that show all the times and cross-overs for each venue & section.

REMINDERS for entrants, teachers, parents:

Booking in areas are at each of the venues - you need to book in at least within the 30 minutes prior to the start of that section (or prior to advised starting time for Friday entrants).

However, booking in can be done earlier at anytime, particularly if you have entered more than one section and the times are close together.


Balaklava Eisteddfod Office is at the Balaklava Town Hall (on the right - see signs)

Prior to your arrival, make sure you have:
When booking in, make sure you have:
  • Copyright Performer Declaration form completed and signed.
  • Original or authorised music scores or drama material (Named) to present to booking in staff
  • Photocopy of music scores or drama material for the adjudicator - please mark these "Adjudicator Copy". These copies will be destroyed following the Eisteddfod.
  • Any performance with singing, the lyrics must be on the music score (or attached if the music score doesn't include the lyrics)
  • Receipts for any material purchased via the internet being used for the Eisteddfod (eg sheet music from musicnotes.com, backing tracks from itunes etc)
  • For Rock Band and Contemporary Vocal - bring a legible copy of the lyrics for the adjudicator
  • Original or authorised CD backing track (no other media) if entering a Contemporary Vocal Section at the Lighthouse Christian Centre? If backing is on MP3 for example, it must be copied onto CD for use in the sound system at the Contemporary Vocal venue. (Burnt cd's only to be used for the Eisteddfod)
Make sure:
  • To bring OWN media player if using a backing track at any venue (OTHER than Contemporary Vocal) Backing tracks must be original or authorised copies
  • Any backing track used in a Vocal section at the Balaklava Uniting Church, must be a single instrument only (eg piano, guitar etc). Live accompanist is preferred.
  • Entrants don't run off stage before you get a photo! Photos may be taken AFTER a performance but NOT during a performance - if you want a photo (of your child/school only). Video may ONLY be done with the appropriate APRA|AMCOS licence and videographer badge, to be signed for at the booking in areas.
  • To ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE & HAVE FUN!!
