Summer Jazz in The City

Nearby and Not So Nearby Visitors Visiting

This month, we're hosting a couple of out-of-town groups.  See what's going on, in Jazz, out there beyond our cityscapes.
From the East Coast: Laura Campisi with The Pat Battstone Quartet - Saturday,  7/7/18
Sicilian Cantante Laura Campisi will be joined with Pat Battstone's Quartet as part of Christopher Braig's Jimmy McGary Project. Pat and Christopher will be joined by long time bandmate, Lee McKinney on drums and Don Aren on Bass.  This is sure to be a lovely evening and in celebration of a local sax legend, a personal favorite here at the Point, Jimmy McGary!
From NYC - The Sam Blakeslee Quintet- 7/12/18
The Sam Blakeslee Quintet features Cincinatti's local music hero and guitarist Brandon Coleman, 2018 Downbeat Student Music Award Winner Michael Orenstein from Oberlin Conservatory on piano, of New York City's most in demand rhythm section players Leo Sherman on bass and Dan Pugach on drums. Admission to hear these lovely touring musicians is $15. Get your tickets HERE,  or drop by The Point before the day of the event to purchase tickets in-person.
From Columbus - Alex Schrock  - 7/27/18

The Alex Schrock Trio has been a staple in Columbus, Cleveland and Akron and now will be making their debut at Schwartz's Point in Cincinnati! Joined by local talents Matt Wiles and Jeff Mellott, the trio offers up a mix of Schrock's multifaceted original compositions and unique takes on standards.

Mark Your Calendar for September 1st and get your tickets in advance for the Luca Ciarla Quartet, visiting all the way from Italy, to bring you a most memorable night of music!  Luca describes his music as "Mediterranean Jazz with a Gypsy Flavor."  Intrigued?  We are too.  Pre-order your tickets and get more information HERE.
