Hello Pointers!

Summer is a very busy time for the Military Science Department. Most of the cadre and cadets are attending Cadet Summer Training (CST) at Fort Knox, Ky.

Cadets from all ROTC programs across the nation attend CST, which is primarily field-based training. They conduct day and night land navigation, rappelling, obstacle courses, Basic Rifle Marksmanship, and their tactics will be tested on squad and platoon patrols.

The cadets are consolidated in platoons with cadets from other schools which gives them a chance to train and compete these other programs. MS I and II cadets are attending Basic Camp and the MS III cadets attend the Advanced Camp training.

The cadre are all supporting camp in various functions such as platoon trainers, operations officers, administrative and supply support. Check out some fantastic photos and videos posted of the cadets in training.

If friends and family are interested in attending the CST graduation ceremonies information can also be found at the CST website.

This summer we also have several cadets selected for special schools and internships like Air Assault, Cultural Understanding Leadership Program (CULP) at various foreign countries, and Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation (WHINSEC) at Fort Benning, Ga.

We hope your summer is as productive as ours!
