Hey <<First Name>>,

Last week, I was part of a round-table discussion with the Australian Human Rights Commission and Australian Sports Commission to help develop guidelines for the inclusion of trans, gender diverse and intersex people in sport.

I was very proud to talk about The Flying Bats’ (my club!) Gender and Sexy Diveristy Policy. I know I’ve mentioned it here before but if you haven’t yet read it, please do. Supplement it with Challenging Gender in Single-Sex Spaces: Lessons from a Feminist Softball League. We’re both examples of how women’s only spaces formed out of the feminist separatist  movement have opened up and evolved to be more inclusive while maintaining our core identities.

The Beach Handball World Championships are on 24-29th of July. And because it’s a sport on the beach, of course we have a team. Follow ausbeachhandball on Instagram for general news about the men’s and women’s teams but if you want to be a superfan like me, follow some of the athletes.

I recommend Manon Vernay:

I have a feeling it may be streamed - I’ll tweet the details.

This is a great personal story:
Tweet by Danielle Warby: I love this "Rugby is beautiful: it breaks down all the stereotypes of what women & female athletes should be, & challenges them. [We] were a beautiful reflection of how fluid women could be in their femininity & masculinity"

Have a good week sports fans!
