District Events

As you all know, our opioid problem is not going away soon. I am a strong advocate for those struggling and their families and I participated once again at the annual Overdose Awareness Day vigil and procession at Government Center in Fall River. We have so many great groups in our city working to fight this crisis and help all in need. The night before the gathering at Government Center, I had a chance to ride along with Project Reconnect Fall River with the Fall River Police Department, Seven Hills Foundation, and volunteers from Recover Fall River who visit families of those affected by the disease of addiction to offer support services.
I was proud to host Chair of the Economic Development and Emerging Technologies Committee, State Representative Joe Wagner, and members of the local business community for a tour and meeting at the Amazon Distribution Facility in Fall River. Well over 1,000,000 sq ft, 1,100 employees and growing, over ten miles of conveyor belts and lots of smiling employees. We talked about issues of importance to all businesses and Amazon’s future in Massachusetts.
At this year's Town of Freetown Freetown Historical Society Open House, we celebrated their 50th Anniversary thanks to their dedicated volunteers who keep the traditions and history alive.
I had an amazing clam boil fundraiser with a huge crowd of such positive friends, family and supporters. I'd like to thank House Speaker Robert A. DeLeo for taking the drive to Fall River to add his support. I'm a lucky State Representative!
The Southeast Asian Cultural Festival had a beautiful display of Southeast Asian music, dance, culture and food for all to enjoy at  Fall River Heritage State Park.
It was a beautiful day filled with family, friends, and old colleagues as we dedicated the Robert Correia Boardwalk. Bob's 31 years as State Representative resulted in a myriad of significant projects being funded and developed including our precious Heritage State Park and Boardwalk.
Meeting with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation and my local state colleagues to discuss driving safety concerns, littering, mowing schedules and future construction are always beneficial. Collaboration is key to figuring out next steps in addressing the concerns of our constituents.

Coffee and Conversation with Carole

"Coffee and Conversation with Carole" has been a popular series with my constituents, many of whom show up to voice concerns, tell a personal story, or just say hello. This is a great way for me to learn more about the issues throughout the district.

Here are the mornings we will be available:
  • Monday, October 29, Dunk N Munch, 4263 North Main Street, Fall River 9:00am-10:00am

Walk and Talk with State Rep. Fiola

"Walk and Talk with State Rep. Fiola" is a great way for me to interact with my constituents over light exercise while learning about the history in the community. Our next stop will be at the Alfred J. Lima Quequechan River Rail Trail. We will be joined by David Jennings, Director of the Lafayette Durfee House and Janice Velozo, Chair of the Quequechan River Rail Trail who will share the history of the trail.

"Walk and Talk with State Rep. Fiola" will be held rain or shine on the following date:     Wednesday, October 3 from 5:30pm-6:30pm

We will meet at the Wordell Street entrance. Please park in the Britland Park parking lot behind the Fall River Police Station.
