Weekly Meeting

Please join us for our next weekly gathering, taking place this evening, Sunday, July 8th, for meditation and dharma sharing, 6:30pm at Unitarian Place (Kingston Unitarian Fellowship), 206 Concession Street. Linda Tucker will be bell minding.
Happiness Here and Now

"Many of us think that happiness is not possible in the present moment. Most of us believe that there are a few more conditions that need to be met before we can be happy. This is why we are sucked into the future and are not capable of being present in the here and now. This is why we step over many of the wonders of life. If we keep running away into the future, we cannot be in touch with the many wonders of life—we cannot be in the present moment where there is healing, transformation, and joy.

-- Thich Nhat Hanh

Community Announcement

Lavender Trimming

Sangha members Darcy & Keith Gawronski-McNinch invite volunteers with an hour or two to spare to help trim lavender on their farm (aka Secret Field Lavender) this Saturday, July 7th. Too many plants in bloom and not enough hands to trim! You can take one of our market size bouquets of fresh lavender home with you, and we will serve a vegetarian picnic at lunchtime. To help (or sign up to help on another date) email secretfieldlavender@gmail.com.
Freedom

"Freedom is the basis of all happiness. This means freedom from despair, freedom from resentment, freedom from jealousy and fear. Genuine practice is practice that helps you become more free and more solid. Every step you take, every breath you take, every minute of sitting."

-- Thich Nhat Hanh
Our sangha has two teams helping to share leadership and facilitation of our meetings. Our Bell Minders Team are mindful facilitators for our weekly gatherings, as well as retreats, taking beautiful care of our friends in the practice including the bell. Our Sangha Care Team facilitates sangha care meetings, plans retreats, minds our library and resources, and coordinates outreach. If you are interested in helping with either or both, contact interbeingkingston@gmail.com for more information.
