July 2018                                                                   Events and more.....

New Library Building Update: We continue to appreciate the support of our donors and how they value the library has an important part of our community. We continue our fundraising efforts in our goal to build a new library.

We do NOT have full funding yet which is why we will have the millage proposal on the August 7 ballot. We are sharing the ballot language for the library's construction millage. The facts are: if it passes a new library will be built; if it fails the library will have to return the grant money donated to the project and a  new library will not be built. The millage language reads:

LIBRARY MILLAGE PROPOSAL

Shall the tax limitation on all taxable property within Richland Township, Saginaw County, Michigan, be increased and the Township be authorized to levy a new additional millage in an amount not to exceed 1.0 mill ($1.00 on each $1,000 of taxable value) for ten (10) years, 2018 to 2027 inclusive, to provide funds for all library purposes authorized by law, including operating and constructing a library building for the Rauchholz Memorial Library? If the millage is approved, the estimate of the revenue the Township will collect in 2018, the first year of the levy, is approximately $150,000. By law, the funds from the millage will be disbursed to the Rauchholz Memorial Library.
