The event will take place in Cape Town on 20 July 2018 and our speakers will be sharing ways to address the future of education.

Sam Paddock is an education entrepreneur, businessman, family man, Cape Town enthusiast and learning geek.
In 2008 he co-founded GetSmarter, a company that offers certified online short courses from the world's leading Universities. In 2017, GetSmarter was acquired by 2U Inc, a leading EdTech company listed on the Nasdaq (TWOU) for $103m.
He is husband to Keri, father to twins, Violet and Fletcher, lives in Cape Town, South Africa, is enthusiastic about trail running, an avid reader, traveller, and loves exploring food and wine.
He mentors individuals in his personal capacity.
He was featured as one of the M&G's 200 Young South Africans (http://ysa2013.mg.co.za/sam-paddock/). Sam was privileged to be featured on the front cover of Entrepreneurship Magazine together with his brother, Rob Paddock, in September 2015 and again in December 2017.

Luvuyo Rani-Silulo Ulutho Technologies

When Luvuyo Rani opened an Internet café in Khayelitsha – many people told him he was mad. Ten years later, with customers queuing up to make use of these precious resources, he has proved his doubters wrong.An inspiration to the community, Luvuyo Rani‘s is the ultimate rags-to-riches entrepreneurial tale and his business is improving the lives of many people in Khayelitsha who, without him, would be left to watch the digital age pass them by.
In 2004, Luvuyo and his brother Lonwabo started Silulo Ulutho Technologies which started out by selling refurbished computers and soon expanded to basic IT training and writing business profiles and plans for local businesses. In the school’s 7 years 20 000 students completed the 6-month course and this year 1500 people have already enrolled. And again Rani and his partners are struggling to keep up with demand. In 2014, Luvuyo was honoured by the Junior Chamber International one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons in the world for his work in entrepreneurship. This accolade could not have come at a better time at Silulo celebrated its 10 years of changing lives through technology.
“We know that there is a hunger for technology in townships and we want to feed this demand,” he adds. “My business partners and I have a vision that will see us opening up Silulo centres in every township and rural area in South Africa”. In 2016 Luvuyo has own as the Schwab Social Entreprenuer of the Year 2016, where he attended the World Economic Forum in Kigali, Rwanda in June to receive the award

Marlon Parker- Reconstructed Living Labs (RLabs)

Marlon Parker is an advocate for using technology and education to drive social change. His passion for technology and community development has influenced his work and led to being the founder of the Reconstructed Living Lab (RLabs). RLabs is a global movement that have inspired replication of the model in 23 countries and impacted more than 10 Million people since its inception. He has been listed as one of the 100 World Class South Africans, an alumni of President Obama’s Young African Leaders initiative and a honorary faculty member of the International School of Digital Transformation. He was also selected as a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, Dangote Fellow and an Ashoka Fellow for his work in Social Entrepreneurship. He was the co-founder of JamiiX that was the backbone to one of the largest mobile chat counseling networks in the world with more than 4.5 million people being reached since its inception. He was the Lead SA Hero of 2015 and was listed by Quartz as one of the African Innovators of 2017. Marlon has done extensive work with organisations such as Mozilla, BBC, Facebook, Finnish Foreign Ministry, UNWomen, Naspers, WeChat, World Bank and Accenture
