The 6th Annual Warrior Beach Week will take place September 4-9, in Bethany Beach, Delaware.

Warrior Beach Week is less than 2 months away!

Check out all the latest information and updates regarding Warrior Beach Week which is now less than 60 days away from kicking off! In this edition...

Quilts of Valor returns...

**Please Note: An error occurred in our last Newsletter (May/June) showing an incorrect date of July 17 – the correct date is Saturday July 14 for the Quilt of Valor sew date**
  • The next Sew Date to assist in creating a Quilt of Valor is Saturday July 14, starting at 9 a.m.
  • An opportunity to GET INVOLVED and HELP create these one of kind patriotic Quilts! Don’t let the term ‘sew day’ scare you away --- no need to know how to sew. All are welcomed, men and women.
  • Get in on the FUN and PRIDE in joining the volunteers producing QUILTS OF VALOR! The Serendipity Quilt Shop in Dagsboro will once again create and donate Quilts of Valor to the 2018 OSTD wounded veterans who have not already received one.
  • Feel free to join in at the Serendipity Shop located 31821 Cannon Street, Dagsboro, Delaware. No need to call – just show up between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.----- on July 14th.

Volunteer Opportunities

Operation SEAs The Day will open the Volunteer Portal starting around July 15th through August 15 to sign-up for opportunities to support the 6th Warrior Beach Week. Anyone interested in volunteering can here, review the 2018 needs, and complete the Volunteer Signup form. We will review all requests and give feedback after August 15. Volunteer activities will begin mid-late August and continue through Warrior Beach Week (September 4 – 9).

It is through community involvement that makes Operation SEAs The Day possible for the very deserving heroic Veterans and their families!

Volunteers are needed in the following areas:

  • Making Table Decorations
  • Filling children's gift bags
  • Delivering water to various activities
  • Assist with Stand-Up Paddle Boarding and Kayaking
  • Helping VIF families boarding/returning from boating trips
  • Baking desserts or providing fruit for functions
  • Organize and pack food bags
  • Trucks/Vans – transport food bags to South Coastal library on Labor Day
  • Setting up chairs and tables for meetings as well as breakdown and stack
  • Selling merchandise at various locations
  • Helping at the Motorcade – Friday 9/7
  • Fort Miles excursion – Greet and check list of attendees on bus
  • Poster Pal Coordinator
  • Assisting with Media
  • Other activities that may arise

We will try to give you lots of advance notice but please understand that occasions for volunteering can and often pop up quickly.   Please let us know if you have ample flexibility in your schedule/availability!

Poster Pal Project

Operation SEAs The Day Poster Pal Project has BEGUN at the Bethany Beach Library on Tuesdays, from July 10 through August 7 –  each session runs from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.  Bring your family, guests, friends, and neighbors for fun and creativity in completing a poster welcoming and honoring the brave Veteran families participating in the 6th Annual Warrior Beach Week. 

Blank posters and markers will be at the library as well as other patriotic families recognizing the Warrior families!   All Posters will be used to line the street as the Very Important Families arrive for the Welcome reception as well as at Bayside for the Hero’s Welcome motorcade.   Warrior families are given the opportunity to take home their favorite posters after the event.    

2018 Official Merchandise

2018 Operation SEAs the Day official merchandise on sale at two locations:

  • Sea Colony Beach Shoppe:   The Sea Colony Beach Shoppe located at Sea Colony Marketplace, Rt. 1 near Bethany Beach, DE 2015. 

                                                 AND

  • Bethany Sea Crest Shop: is now carrying Operation SEAs The Day merchandise.   If you find yourself in downtown Bethany, stop in the Bethany Sea Crest Shop, 99 Garfield Pkwy, Bethany Beach, DE.

Our Mission:
To organize and facilitate a beach week event for our wounded soldiers and their families as a means of showing our appreciation for their service and sacrifice. It is our hope that such a community-based gesture of support will be comforting and help ease their transition back into civilian life.
