Join me in painting the beauty of Carpinteria!
You will have the option of painting outside on the private Carpinteria Art Center picnic tables, in our classroom or out on location nearby.
Demonstrations, lecture, handouts and individual and group critque daily.
Three QoR watercolor pigments, practice Shizen paper and fun will be supplied.
Your standard watercolor equipment and palette will suffice or you can bring equipment for on location painting. On location/plein aire equipment can vary from a low beach chair with your palette on the ground to a camp stool, palette support, easel and umbrella.
Should you decide to paint plein aire, the side streets of Carpinteria have charming bungalow cottages and there is an array of delightful shops, gardens and beachy flair everywhere.
If you plan to paint at the picnic tables/classroom you will be limited to the delightful and scenic view from the picnic tables at the Art Center patio.
Should you want to expand your subject matter you can go to Carpinteria prior to the workshop and photograph and print different vantage points.
We will be exploring long and close range views in landscape and the mood and information that can be portrayed
