Pupils and staff at Thomas Willingale School and Nursery, The Broadway, Debden, raised over £1,400 so far for Cancer Research UK when they held their own Race for Life fundraising day.
The school raised £771 on the day and are currently still receiving online donations for sponsorship.
Headteacher Teresa Philips said: "Once again the sun is shining for us as we Race For Life, raising considerable amounts of money for Cancer Research UK.
"Our children dressed for the occasion in shades of pink and their faces were painted to support all the warriors out there who are affected by cancer."
"Our wonderful families joined us for a picnic lunch where we all came together in solidarity.
"It was great to hear comments such as 'I really love this day, 'this is such a wonderful event', 'thank you for being such a caring school' from parents as they left with smiles and a summer glow!"
She added: "This year our school community has been affected by cancer one too many times. We have lost both staff and parents.
"It is through fundraising events like these that treatments have been developed and because of the work of Cancer Research UK some of us have been fortunate enough to be survivors."
