Good morning <<First Name>>, this is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!
THOUGHT FOR TODAY: BARRIERS TO BEING GOD'S TEMPLE -1
Rom 12:2 "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will."
Why is it that we often struggle to live as God's temple?
First, were we never designed by God to operate independently of Him.
The animal kingdom couldn't function without God either, but unlike us, they have no choice. We have the choice to accept God's love for us in Christ or reject it, and God continues to love us.
Even as a child of God, filled with His Holy Spirit, we still have a choice to live for His praise and glory or not. When we choose not to, we tarnish our testimony of Him in our lives, and we create a barrier to being God's temple. Yet, when we function by the power of the Holy Spirit in our everyday living, as a child of God, we glorify God, and others see in us a reflection of His love, grace and mercy.
Let us pray together:
Prayer (pray aloud with me): Dear Heavenly Father,You never ever designed me to operate independently of You, yet how many times have I made choices and decisions without ever consulting You first. You have given me this awesome but powerful gift, the gift of free-will, to choose. Even though You love me with an everlasting love, because You are LOVE. I can choose to receive Your love and let it transform my life, or I can choose to reject it. And You will still love me. Thank You Father, for Your Love for me in Christ Jesus and through the indwelling power of Your Holy Spirit. I choose to let Your love to change me so that I will be the temple that You want me to be. In Jesus loving name I pray, through the power and ministry of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
