Nearly 100 years since women won the right to vote in the United States, our government and society have yet to deliver on the implicit promise of women’s full equality in our democracy. The County of Santa Clara is kicking off Women 2020 to honor this historic anniversary through concrete action to close the gap between that promise and the current reality.

The Office of Women’s Policy will also convene
Women 2020 Work Groups and events to engage community members and leaders in spotlighting the greatest barriers locally to women’s equality and the greatest opportunities to move the needle here in our own Valley. These will serve as spaces for deep dialogue, creative thinking to inform the Leadership Council, Office of Women’s Policy, and Board of Supervisors, and also for rolling up sleeves to coordinate the work of making Women 2020 programs and events happen.
Get involved or stay informed
Moving the needle on women’s equality isn’t easy, or it would be done already. The only way that Women 2020 succeeds is if we have people at the table as diverse as our county and with a deep reach into local communities, personal experience or expertise about women’s issues, and the desire to roll up their sleeves and work for change.
Apply by August 6 for the Women’s Equality 2020 Leadership Council
