DIFFERENT BRAINS INC. BOARD MEMBER HIGHLIGHT:
LYNNE WINES!

This month I want to give a shout out to a dedicated Different Brains Inc. board member who amazes me with everything she manages to accomplish: Lynne Wines! Lynne has been with Different Brains since before it even existed, and has been one of our loudest cheerleaders.
Lynne (also pictured below during a recent visit with myself and some of our wonderful neurodiverse team) has the kind of history that exemplifies where hard work can get you: she went from being a bank teller to being the CEO of Union Bank of Florida, then went to become the President/CEO of First Southern Bank. Meanwhile, she was the chair and previous board member of United Way of Broward County, served as Chairman of 2-1-1 Broward, is currently on the board of BankUnited, and has so many roles with other great organizations that I would clog up your inbox if I listed them all!

Now, she has recently completed her Advanced Leadership Fellow at a little place called Harvard University and is just wrapping up her Master’s of Public Administration programs at NYU. That leads to the next challenge she is undertaking: ending homelessness here in Broward County, Florida!

Lynne was recently named senior director of the Business Council on Homelessness, and will be leading the “United We End Homelessness” initiative being done in collaboration with the United Way of Broward County and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance. The program works to get every homeless person in permanent housing, and then use that as an opportunity to give support to the entire person - including mental health care. That may sound like a Herculean task, but if anyone can do it, it's Lynne.

So, thank you to Lynne Wines for everything she is doing to help make the world a better place for ALL of us.

Thanks!

-Hackie Reitman, M.D.
