Thanks to start up $ from 1st E Free Church in Cedar Falls Iowa, the girls and Gwen were able to raise and donate over Q840 ($120) to help people here recover from the devastation of the recent volcano eruption. It was great to see the girls open their hearts and embrace the opportunity to help others.
One of the blessings of our new home is the chance to open it up to others and extend hospitality. (3 John 1:8). We enjoyed having the Prince of Peace teaching staff over for a meal and fun conversation (at least we think it was fun...it was mostly in Spanish). LOL
One of the extracurricular programs that is being offered to the older girls is hair styling. They needed guinea pigs!

In addition to the Aquaponics program there are several little garden spots that the girls maintain. Gwen got the chance to get her hands dirty and work with one class to plant radishes. As you can see, they are great problem solvers and quite agile!
With this most recent harvest, the Aquaponics program is coming full circle. The girls and teachers at Prince of Peace have full understanding and are ready to take it over. Darren will still be available for consulting if they need it, but it has always been the objective of "teaching them to fish" rather than providing a meal. God's timing is perfect.
Remember our prayer last month for new ministry opportunities?
Darren has agreed to a two year commitment to serve as the Operations manager for a school here called: Christian Academy of Guatemala (CAG). It is a great place dedicated to supporting Missionary families by educating their children with a solid program similar to what they would get in the U.S. It is important because when these families eventually move back home, their children need to be able to assimilate back into the U.S. school systems. CAG understands the uniqueness of the needs that come with raising children on the mission field and views their ministry as critical to the success of the many out reach opportunities here in Guatemala.

Darren will continue to help at Prince of Peace when needed.

God has provided several new financial partners and we have been both amazed and humbled by the generosity of His people. We have tried to thank everyone personally through emails, snail mail and instant messaging but some have chosen to donate anonymously so we want to express our gratitude here once again.
