Tips from Fellow Travelers

Summer naturally seems to be a time to think about vacationing and traveling. However, many people who have recently received a kidney failure diagnosis are hesitant about it. Perhaps they are concerned about venturing away from their home dialysis center, or maybe they simply believe that there are very few travel opportunities for people with their condition. In the first installment in a three-part series, experienced travelers offer their thoughts about travel possibilities for people on dialysis. Read more.

Taking a Leadership Role in Advocating for Access to Transplants

The Kidney Foundation recently participated in a key stakeholder interview with Health Canada for the Organ Donation & Transplantation Collaborative. Health Canada conducted interviews in June with a view to presenting a report to the Federal, Provincial and Territorial Ministers of Health in the fall.  Findings are expected to inform a shared vision and guiding principles for a more effective organ donation and transplantation system in Canada. Read more.

KRESCENT Announces Two New Appointments

Dr. Todd Alexander has been named Program Director and Dr. Sunny Hartwig steps into the newly created role of Co-Chair of the Curriculum Task Force at The Kidney Research Scientist Core Education and National Training (KRESCENT).
