Bike-a-Thon in Malden Benefits "Water for Life"

September in New England brings crisp weather and the promise of new beginnings - school, the Jewish New Year, and outdoor fall sports.

Sowing Opportunities will participate in this new beginning by holding a bike-a-thon on September 15 at 12:00 noon, along the beautiful Northern Strand Community Trail (bike path).

Our hope and expectation are to reach a goal of at least $5,000.  We plan to attain this through full community involvement - individual residents, families, visitors, businesses, and other organizations.

Every rider will pay a $10 entry fee (under 13 free and over 65 voluntary donation).  We hope to have families and individuals of all sizes and abilities participate.  This is not a race and it's not even a requirement to complete all 4.2 miles of the route.

Our intent is community connection and to raise awareness and funds for our project of delivering accessible, potable water and sustainable agriculture to the village of Chajmaic, Guatemala.

We are asking local businesses and organizations to sponsor each rider who agrees to participate.  There will be prizes, refreshments and entertainment.
