Moreland's transport strategy for the next 10 years is open for discussion, with Council voting on 11 July to release the Draft Moreland Integrated Transport Strategy MITS).
With key themes including sustainability, liveability and health, the strategy has a positive focus on prioritising walking, bike-riding and public transport.
The document states that implementation needs to be prioritised – acknowledging that this is where previous plans have fallen down.
Residents now have until Friday 17 August to read and comment on the 200-page document and we urge all readers to do so! You can fill in a questionnaire on the Council website, or write a submission and send it in.

Moreland Council voted by a narrow majority to remove two specific action points from the draft, including the progressive lowering of speed limits on local roads to 30kph. You can find the missing bits and the evidence supporting them on our Wordpress blog.
