July Update 2018

We need your help...MOSTLY to have some fun, but with a little work on the green spaces too!

Over the August Bank Holiday weekend 25th-27th August we're arranging some simple outdoor activities - details are shown below.

A Bit of Fun...

Just before the August Bank Holiday Weekend 25th-27th August, we'll put some 'Activity Guides' on the FOH website.
Any time over the weekend, you, your family or your team can take part - the weather will not be an issue!

Budding detective sleuths of all ages will be able to enter the 'Mousehunt' or the 'Code-breakers Challenge' through our website.

To raise more awareness of our website, online Activity Guides can be viewed or downloaded in the days before the weekend and when your detective work is done, can be entered via our website once again.
Young or Young at Heart - everyone can join in - individuals, families or teams. "Winners" will be announced on our website (first names only) and you can email us a picture of you or your team as you take part.

And a Bit of Work...

We'd like some volunteers to help improve the edges of the green spaces.

In some parts, the overgrowth of years past has resulted in blurred edges and made some paths narrower than they should be (2 'reasonable' examples shown below). We'd like your help to remove the last remaining deposits.
Over the Bank Holiday Weekend, we will be organising volunteer sessions where you bring your Brown Bin, a spade and a hard brush - scoop up the overgrowth of grass/mud/moss into your bin, swift brush and you're done. Or, if all you can provide is your brown bin - that would help too.
We think that by doing this we can reveal the edge stones so that strimming can be more effective and maintain the true edge of our green spaces in the years to come.
Secretary Dave, prompted by his Grandson, has already trialled the approach on the path between Greenheys Crescent and Brookside Close...so much better, whilst others have been at work between Greenpark Close and Hayfield Close - your 'Friends' thank you.
So, watch out for our next email and we hope to see you, your spade, brown bin and brush!

We're getting a sign!

We're working out how to set it up, but the intention is to fix it on the first street sign. We'll let you know...

Thank you to...

...our dog walkers and their dogs. Keep up the good work.
