What are we doing here? Where are we going, and what are we going to do when we get there? Research into these vital questions, as well as the necessities of Theater itself, bring us—theatrically speaking—to the Underworld, in which we find dead TV stars, chain-smoking scientists, Mayan astrologers, cartoon characters, turtles in abundance, a portal, laugh-tears, a small guitar backed by a few desperate hours. Zeus and Hades, Abbott and Costello. It’s the oldest story there is, but still full of surprises. Please join us for this Twelve Dollar Tour of the Lower Realms.

“This Human Project” got its start at The Marsh’s (Berkeley) Tell It On Tuesday storytelling series, whose producer, Rebeca Fisher, said, “Truth makes a relationship with the audience that has you leaning in to go wherever he takes you. Irreverently mystical storytelling. Humor, unexpected turns. Delightful, yummy work.”

Douglass Truth has performed his show “An Intimate Evening with Death Herself” for 12 years at Fringe festivals (including Best of Fringe at the Nugget Fringe Festival), at the United Solo Theater Festival in New York City, and at The Marsh Theater in San Francisco as part of the Let’s ReImagine End of Life event.

Douglass Truth brought, with his one-woman show “An Intimate Evening with Death, Herself” a lighter side of death and dying—but with depth and refreshing clarity. David Swetman, former chaplain of Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital said the show was "Funny creative, fresh, and poignant; a brilliant show, entertaining start to finish. A wonderful message without being preachy. Doug has a gift to both entertain and provoke thoughtful introspection." He performed at United Solo Theater Festival in New York City, The Marsh Theater in San Francisco, fringe festivals and convalescent facilities, and many private homes, churches, and art galleries.

He has also been called the love child of Eddie Izzard and Lily Tomlin.
