A Message from Pastor Fran
Where do you belong? To whom do you belong? The response to these two questions should reach much deeper into our soul than what we may consider to be the obvious. Where I should be each day is much easier to answer, as my schedule often reminds me or dictates to me the physical place to which I should arrive and for what purpose. As for answering to whom do I belong, I pause for just a moment to ponder, and then I realize the answer is always the same. I belong to God. Obvious response? No, not always. Sometimes the pause to ponder generates several options that have been influenced by the events, contacts, tasks, and my postured way for the day. In the end, I always come back to the same place of belonging – with God.
This past week at CUMC has been another week of remembering where and to whom we belong as we have worshiped at The Vine and in the traditional service, worshiped at the celebration of life for Dot Edwards and Marguerite Tompkins, played at the pool for children’s fellowship, gathered at First Baptist for ecumenical fellowship with our youth, broken bread in the CLC with the United Methodist Men, and have been continuously caring for one another in love – just to name a few.
There are so many ways to know and grow in our belonging to God. If you want a genuine and authentic experience of belonging…come to CUMC!
