CAMPERVANS & CARAVANS

Last month we announced a new entrance and a new campervan area!

In recent years Campervan & Caravan Tickets have sold out and this year they're even more popular, so while we have a new field... we're not sure how long the space is going to last.

Every year we receive sad messages in the week before the festie from folk who wanted to come in their beloved van but didn't get a ticket in time.
Don't let that be you!

Campervan passes are on sale - until they're gone! - from

DON'T BE A MUG, BRING YOUR OWN!

This July we launched our Bring Your Own Mug campaign, asking festival goers to bring a reusable coffee/tea mug to cut down on single use cups being used on site. We hope to lead the way and inspire other festies too!

The campaign was top news on e-Festivals the day we launched!

How many times do you have to use a reusable cup for it to be the environmentally friendly option?

The RAW Foundation gives the answer as between 2.5 and 14 times, depending what the cups are made from. Twice daily for a week, at most. The stand out fact from up to date research is that even once washing and transport have been take into consideration, real crockery makes sense.

Disposable culture goes against everything The Green Gathering stands for. Getting on board our #BYOM campaign is only a small step beyond carrying a durable water bottle... and it could make a seriously huge impact on the amount of waste the festival creates.
Don't be a Mug... Bring Your Own!

For those who forget or can’t carry another thing, we'll be selling lightweight and gloriously retro enamel mugs at cost price from the Info Exchange Tent :)

RUSSELL GOES TO THE VERDANT VENUE!!!

Remember Russell, the 'Peaceful Man' of Pete Loveday's comics?
The Verdant Venue was inspired by an early Green Gathering!

In the run up to this year's festie The Green History Site brings you daily updates on Russell's visit to the Green Gathering Verdant Venue.
Check it out.

THE SPEAKERS' FORUM

Occupying a corner of the Campaigns Field, near the Co-operators' Camp, The Forum is a platform for radical thinkers, writers, researchers, influencers and activists. We hope you learn something new, enjoy a debate, and find inspiration to take action...

Many Thanks to the Speakers, who will include:

Reclaim the Power on the campaign to block fracking across the UK.
Kristina Harrison: feminist transwoman speaks on balancing rights and developing healthy ways to talk about sex and gender identity.
Plastic Free Towns with activists from Chepstow and Frome.
Jamie Kelsey Fry  (New Internationalist) on the global movement towards new forms of democracy - reclaiming power for the 99%.
Molly Scott Cato (MEP) on Brexit and beyond.
Tamasin Cave (Spinwatch) & Caroline Molloy on the truth of the NHS crisis.
Rising Up network on using civil disobedience to bring about system change.
Seize the Day and Dave Randall on music & politics; raves, riots & revolution.

Evenings, check out the Radical Cinema with Reel News; and don't miss special guests Land of Promise with a Celebration of Utopia on Saturday:
Guest readers and musicians journey through three and a half centuries of radical thought, writing and song about the connections between art, social justice and our living environment – from the diggers to the eco neighbourhoods of Freiburg and radical interventions in cities around the world.

Get in the mood with video highlights from this year's acts...
3 Daft Monkeys, Dragonsfly, Smiley & The Underclass, Kangaroo Moon, Funke & the Two Tone Baby, River Roots, Skiprat, Vojta, Pagan Love Cult, and Matthew Frederick.
