Flipgrid Educator Innovation Week

Join Flipgrid Head of Educator Innovation Jornea Erwin as she shares tips, tricks, and opportunities to engage your students during Educator Innovation Week! During the week of July 16th Jornea will:

  • Host a practice-specific webinar every day, covering everything from inquiry based learning to formative assessment.
  • Co-host the #FlipgridFever Twitter chat on Tuesday, July 17th at 8p CT.

During the 2018 ISTE Conference the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) released new standards for education leaders that highlight key areas of impact.

The characteristics of effective leaders outlined in the ISTE Standards for Education Leaders are:

  1. Equity and Citizenship Advocate: Leaders use technology to increase equity, inclusion and digital citizenship practices.
  2. Visionary Planner: Leaders engage others in establishing a vision, strategic plan and ongoing evaluation cycle for transforming learning with technology.
  3. Empowering Leader: Leaders create a culture where teachers and learners are empowered to use technology in innovative ways to enrich teaching and learning.
  4. System Designer: Leaders build teams and systems to implement, sustain and continually improve the use of technology to support learning.
  5. Connected Learner: Leaders model and promote continuous professional learning for themselves and others.
Local Conferences and Events
Region 10 is on the road this summer, and we're bringing our sessions to you! Find the location nearest you, and search for the sessions you want. See dates and details, and register in ESC Works.
Local Conferences
  • Explore the effective marriage of technology and pedagogy in an effort to better serve students. TIA will be held in Denton on July 17-18.  Register here.
  • Join fellow educators in Royce City on July 24-25. Sessions will encourage participants to take steps to improve practices, seamlessly integrate technology, and make classrooms exciting places for learning and sharing. Registration is open.
  • Edcamps: Join fellow educators in a new professional development format that is driven by participants. Click here to find an Edcamp near you or to plan your own.
