Sponsors
A big part of the club is sponsors who make it possible for us to create events for our members.
We are very fortunate to have Boyce Podiatry as a sponsor and I was privileged to have a personal tour of their clinic and get a good understanding of the many services they can offer.
Lynley Boyce has given us some great advice;
Niggly heel pain or achilles injuries that just won't go away?
Nothing is more annoying than lingering pain that gets in the way of training and day to day life. The plantar fascia and achilles are known areas of the foot and leg for having poor circulation, and for some, regardless of various treatments thrown at them, they struggle to get better once injured.
Boyce Podiatry is the leading the way for treatment of chronic achilles and plantar fascia issues.
Shockwave therapy uses acoustic sound waves to restart the healing process by functionally stimulating circulation and metabolic activity.
The benefits include:
- reducing muscular tension
- reducing calcifications and thickening
- improving range of motion
-increased cell metabolism, which allows old damaged cells to be removed and replaced with healthy viable cells.
The research clearly shows the effectiveness of using shockwave therapy in the treatment of chronic plantar fascitis/heel spurs, achilles tendinopathy.
Treatment consists of 3-6 visits, once a week and can be done alongside your current rehab programme.
Want to know more? Lynley will take you through a comprehensive assessment to make sure this is the best treatment option for you.
