New on Campus
We are very excited to have newly installed stained glass in the stairwell of the Kresge Academic Center. The glass was originally crafted by a much-loved former member of Wesley’s faculty. Dr. Laurence Hull Stookey taught preaching and worship from 1973 to 2007. His influence extends beyond Wesley to the shaping of worship for the United Methodist Church as a whole. Though his professional work was in the shaping of words for liturgy and preaching, Stookey had a deep love of the arts. He originally made the panels for the Oxnam Chapel. The free standing frame was removed when Oxnam Chapel was renovated in 2010. Dr. Stookey passed in 2016. We are delighted to have found a permanent home for his window to preserve Dr. Stookey's work for the ages. However, we still need funds to complete the work. Our current exhibition is How to Live with Stones by Justin Sorensen will be open until August 17th. The workshops @Wesley presents
500 Words: Writing as Spiritual Practice
Taught by Wesley Alum Patrice Gerideau, this 5-week workshop will explore creative writing and spiritual formation. Patrice will lead participants through the process of writing creative non-fiction as a means to access and explore one’s faith. Designed for all levels of experience
9am – 12noon: September 8, 15, 29; October 6, and 13.

In the Studio
We are pleased to announce an ongoing project that has begun in the studio. Our founder, Cathy Kapikian has started work on a piece that has been designed specifically for our refectory. The support structures for the work have arrived in the studio and will be prepared for the community to help paint through the fall semester.
